Hi. I am interested in, and trying to write, free open-source educational software that would be useful for people with little access to teachers. The project is Mitty'esque, but I enjoy working on it.

Amateur.
I am a partially retired lawyer. I still represent a large public school system on a part time basis. My undergraduate degree was from Tennessee Tech in Chemical Engineering. After serving in the Navy on a destroyer and guided-missile cruiser as an Anti-submarine Warfare Officer, I attended and graduated from Vanderbilt Law School. As a hobby I have been writing a program that would manage many simple stand-alone lessons and compile very detailed data on student progress. The project is Mitty'esque, but I enjoy working on it. Now that I am partially retired I am achieving some limited success. The project started over 30 years ago on a TRS-80 when my children were young. The concept is simple. Lessons are not hardwired. They stand alone but have a standardized interface to a management program. Assignments are in a MySQL database and flexible. Keep data on everything possible. Lessons can be sequential or random with many subjects mixed.
